Pitman Qualifications, which is part of the City & Guilds Group, offers a range of well-respected English examinations, including those shown on this page.

ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages)
ESOL tests the ability to communicate from basic to advanced levels. A pass at the advanced level can provide evidence of the level of proficiency accepted in English medium institutes of higher education and consequently reflects more academic requirements.

SESOL (Spoken English for Speakers of Other Languages)
Spoken ESOL ranges from basic to advanced and consists of a one-to-one recorded interview.

YESOL (Young Learners English for Speakers of Other Languages)
Includes topics which will appeal to young learners aged between eight and 13 years old such as toys, hobbies, animals/pets and science fiction.

English for Business Communication
English for Business Communication is available at three levels. Candidates need to have a background knowledge of office practice and organisation.

English for Office Skills
Specifically designed for people performing secretarial or other office-based tasks.
