About begging

Post by wllsp »

I see regularly the disabled who beg for money in the underground trains here. There are two opinions about them in general. The first one is that they really need money, the second one is that lots of them are sort of professional beggars and often quite well off. It seems like the second opinion dominates here as commuters seldom help the disabled. So my question how do people in your country behave towards the disabled begging for money in your country especially when they see regularly the same disabled people asking for money?

in my country you can see the beggars every day in the same place , so people who walk regularly in these steets know them very well so they don't give them money , but others who see them to the first time may give them money specially to disabled & person who are old age .

I, as a rule, do not give money directly to beggars. I'd much rather take them to a fast food place and get them a meal than give them money which they may spend on alcohol or cigarettes.

I think you would have to define "disabled". There's a large percentage of the homeless who are mentally disabled. I would probably simply give them a few dollars because, since most of them are statistically paranoid schizophrenic, they would probably not accept any help as far as buying them food.

Someone who is physically disabled, however, I would much rather help through a charity. Physically disabled people have the exact same opportunities that everyone else has in my country, but they may be down on their luck financially, which is where charity comes in. Simply giving them, or any beggar, money is simply keeping them from finding their full potential in taking initiative to improve their lives.

Well I think giving charity or some amount of money to the disabled or beggers wholeheartedly is good and it is good to show pity to the disabled people. GOD is offcourse seeing everything , everywhere, everytime.
