I need immediate help!

Post by englearnerr »

...I want to discuss some requirements that two languages L1 and L2 must jointly satisfy to be capable of serving simultaneously as the medium through which a given science can evolve.

I'm having a difficulty understanding the part of ''a given science can evolve''. What does that part of the statement stand for? Where does the part of 'can evolve' belong to? Is it a part of a relative/participle clause? And besides, ''as the medium'' is just another part which I couldn't comprehend the meaning behind it. Please help me to understand this sentence. To summarize this statement in a more comprehensible way what can you say? Thank you

A tortuous sentence that might be paraphrased as...

I want to discuss some criteria that two languages need to share to be the languages through which a particular science can develop
