As I awake amidst the gloom
Your face alone receives the bloom
But sadness prolonged result at naught
Ergo, durst to care and give life a thought.

And so betwixt grief and bliss
I chose not grief for it would mean defeat
Let alone bliss be a vict'ry
To exhilarate us through all eternity.

Oh, am I really awake when I see your face
Amidst the gloom and stormy days
But it matters not if it appears as dream
For only you alone can make it real.
