Please help me with this sentence

U CANT SAY SHOW IT SHOWS
1. David SHOW interests and smile at me



2. David showed interests and smiled at me

Actually, you can't say either of these sentence. Neither
is gramatically correct.

Using present tense, the correct sentence would be:

David shows interest and smiles at me.

or, using past tense:

David showed interest and smiled at me.

Neither sentence can use the word interests.
