Present Perfect: How to use ?

Would you like please help me to change the verb in the following sentences

In recent years, the emphasis on sustainability in Civil Engineering (1)(increase) significantly.

The Australian Synchrotron at Monash University (2)(is) under construction since 2003.

Few researchers (3)(investigate) the possibility of human-like locomotion in robots.

The Kyoto Protocol (4)(achieve) the intended results as it has not been ratified by all countries.

Group 1 (5)(complete) the first assignment, but Group 2 (6)(start).

If I'm not mistaken, because of the conjunction "but", the second clause is meant to be contrary to the first clause. It should read:
Group 1 has completed the first assignment, but Group 2 has not started.
