What do you mean by the phrase"go blank"?

as far as i know it means to forget or can't be able to remember, for example you can say "my mind went black"

For example:

Suddenly, the screen went blank.
= empty, with no pictures, marks or decoration.

Suddenly my mind went blank.
= I could not remember anything
