Chicken-liver? I never heard of that before. If you call someone a chicken, you are calling that person a coward.

I've heard chicken livered used.. Unknownsu gave the correct definition. Yellow, chicken, yellow bellied, yellow livered, chicken bellied, chicken livered.. All these words can mean "coward"

Chicken Liver means to be a coward.
This is not to be confused with being scared or frightened. A person can be frightened to do something but still do it, in which case he isn't chicken. Imagine two people on a diving board both are scared but one dives anyway. The other refuses to dive and could be called "chicken livered" or just "chicken"
