This is a poetic way of saying that after acting in any manner, you have an intense feeling.helloemily wrote:There is a setence in our text book;"They immediately feel a wave of regret for having been so strict ."How to understand the red words?is it used often?
It can also be used in other ways to indicate other feelings.
Example 1: When I heard my childhood friend had died I felt a wave of sorrow
Example 2: I felt a wave of joy when I found out my wife was pregnant.
