Help me! Help me!

Post by bingovietnam »

Hi every body!
My name is Thuy, I come from Viet Nam, nice to make friend with the friends in all over the world.
Now I have a problem with two words: "High-ball" and "low-ball".
Both of them are used in business situation. Any one can help me to find the exactly meaning of these two words and give the same words like that.
Thank you very much!

A 'highball' usually refers to a drink made up of whiskey and ginger ale with lots of ice. I can think of no use is business.

A 'Low ball' in business can mean deliberately under estimating the cost of something to give a false impression of the cost of a project or an item. It can also refer to the first price you bid for an item or contract which you have deliberately set far lower than you are actually prepared to pay.
