I'm sorry that this may sound stupid but.. can Z be written as Ƶ in formal english essays? or is it confined to using it in math?

:? I don't understand the question. What kinda context do you want z to be used? We can say, the English alphabets go from A to Z. Or Zzzzzzzzz is the sound of that flying bee that has been bugging me.
