sports vs sport

Hi,
Tell me please, is there any difference between 'sports magazine' and 'sport magazine'?
As far as I know, 'sports' is the adjective, so only the former is correct; on a Google search I also found 'sport magazine'...
Second, in Nigel Turton's Dictionary of common errors I found that in:
'The magazine is about sports.'
'sports' here is wrong and should be replaced by 'sport'(uncountable), although I quite frequently heard the above-mentioned sentence.
Thanks,
