several + (plural noun)...

Post by Aikuzo »

- She observed several groups of gorilla family.

I was wondering if I should make family - families... but isn't the "groups" already did the job for that "several"?
Pls correct any errors you see on my writings on: nouns, tenses :)

You have a good question but I'm not sure what you mean to say. Isn't a family a group? So what about:
- She observed several gorilla families.

Or perhaps you mean that there were two or three families in each group. Then:
- She observed several groups of gorilla families.

Any group consists of more than one - otherwise it would be a group.

a group of stars
one group of stars
two groups of stars

She observed a group of gorilla families.
She observed two groups of gorilla families.
She observed several groups of gorilla families.

Thanks :-)

How'd she know that the group consists of one family only?

Is this one correct?
