I know it sounds just about right but I want to know what's up with this one.
"a" must followed only by singular countable noun but I think "say" is an abstract...
Anyone?

I think it might be because the sentence has been shortened, words have been left unsaid. The sentence should be : "You don't have a word to say in the matter"!!!
