Do and Make, used as Idioms

Post by Oriani »

Hi people..It seems that DO and MAKE are very interesting verbs that may cause some confusion to speakers of other languages, particularly when used as Idioms--colloquial forms of language expression.
So, that's why I'm writing the usage of these two words in idioms:

Make :) :ok:
Make a point, make allowance, make an example of, make conversation, make
believe, make ends meet, make for, make haste, make good, make fun of, make
free with, make do, make bricks without a straw, make good, make up, make a
pass at, make a practice of, make a mountain out of a molehill, make a night of it, make away with, make it hot, make way, make oneself at home, make out, make the fur fly, make a virtue of necessity.

Do :) :ok:
Do a double take, do a job on, do away with, do by, do duty for, do for, do in,
do justice to, do out of, do tell, do the business, do the honors, do the
trick, do up, do up brown, do with, do without, do the dishes, do the laundry, do your homework...

Those are the idioms that I know so far, or at least I remember in this moment!!

I hope it is worthy!
Greetings!
