Difference between 'use sth to do sth' or ‘for doing sth'?

i don't think there is any difference between these two expressions, however we may use 'to do sth' pattern more often.

I wonder could in #3 "for going to shop" be more grammatical than "for going shopping"?

I think that both are right. There is only grammatical differences. when we use for we should use " verb +ing) after it and then we use to we should put the verb in the infinitive.
