The Day My Mom Broke Her Ankle
Memories are a big part of a child or an adult’s life. The events may be good or bad, but nonetheless these things happen in our lives. The day of the memory may be the longest day of the person’s life and can affect them physically and mentally.
The day started out as any other summer day, sunny, bright, a perfect day. I woke up and my mom made me breakfast. Then around 12:00 I headed outside with my brother to play football with my neighbors. My mom headed out with us to clean our patio and my dad left to work on the roof. Around 3:00 p.m. my mom was cleaning the stairs when she tripped and fell down the concrete staircase. She screamed for help and my dad picked her up and rushed her to the car. When he left he stopped by my neighbors house to tell my brother and me that he was rushing my mom to the hospital. Right at that moment my mind started racing about what happened to her. “Did she get hurt or sick?” “What happened?” Eventually I went home and cried into my pillow for hours. My dad arrived at out house at 8:00 p.m. and informed us that my mom had broken her ankle and the bone snapped in 3 places. I went to bed early and prayed that my mom would get better.
The next day my brother, dad and I visited mom in the hospital. The doctor told us that my mom would be on crutches for 2 months and that she would get to go home. My dad then gave my brother and me a list of chores that we would have to complete each week. After 2 months of hard work and helping my mom out she as able to take her first steps off of her crutches. Then a week later everything around our house was back to normal and my mom was feeling perfectly fine.
Events in a person’s life can change it dramatically and change them physically and mentally. One day can turn a life around from healthy to unhealthy. Every day should be cherished and every memory should never be forgotten.
