Hi guys
May you tell me the meaning of bellow sentences?

1- He holds the record for traveling to all 192 of the globe's sovereign countries, and to all but six of the non-sovereign or other territories that existed in early 1996.

2- He is now down to just three remote islands to visit.

1. all but = all except

( I ate 8 eggs.)

2. down to = all that remains
