Struggling with abbreviations

Post by jcarter »

Hi

I didn't think I struggled with abbreviations but I am struggling at present.

If I was to write 'patient' in a medical context I would typically write 'pt.' but apparently this is incorrect and it's often written as 'Pt'. Similarly, when I refer to 'prescription' or 'treatment' I will appreviate to 'RX' (medical term) and 'TX', but again I usually see the first letter capitalised and the second letter in lower case.

Can someone please help me identify the correct usage.

Thank you

Hi,
in the past, and regarding the matter, I didn't struggle as well but now I do.
