The Chinese news claims that they shot pirates attacking fishing vessels, while the Vietnamese news claims that they were fisherman who strayed into disputed territory and were attacked. Its an interesting case, I wonder how the reports can be so different.

Vietnamese news said they got killed while they were still in the area of Vietnam. I wonder what Chinese news said since I can't read Chinese. You guys know any English news for this?

Thanks for the links, J. Anyway, the Beibu Gulf belongs to which side, Vietnam or China? If it belongs to China then it's a tough case to argue since their reason for mistaking those fishermen as invaders and stuff could be reasonable. They could say it was not intended and such.

hmmmm... really interesting! I wonder which side is lying and what really happened or the cause that made them fired their guns. Racism? Discrimination? An accident? or what?
