Sometimes, the Filippino people called themselves Pacific Islanders, which means they don't belong to Asia; they belong to Oceania. It can be true because some of their parts belong to Oceania; same thing for Indonesia.

We belong to SE asia. it is true we call ourselves pacific islander because we are literally living in islands away from the mainland ASIA. We're a country touching the Pacific ocean..... so go figure

Yeah, the Asian Pacific Islanders club in my high school was pretty strong. And I think in California we have the Asian Pacific American Heritage Month to show the diversity in Calif.
