I hope I don't get shot down too badly.

I was planning the same thing but became discouraged when I found out it is difficult for schools in Vietnam to hire English teachers of Asian descent. They find such teachers unmarketable.

If you "look" like a native speaker, you will automatically get at least $10/hr. If you have good credentials and get hired by a reputable institution, they will pay $18+/hr. US dollars.

 Are you serious? It's like over here then, but only better that things over there are sooooooooooooooooooooo cheap. How many hours they can work over there, I wonder. If they could work for 8 hours a day for five days a week then they would probably get around two to four grands a month. Wow, you would live like you were in Heaven if it happened like you said.
I think it's the same in China, too. My friend's husband used to teach English in China for five or six years. The guy (Caucasian) speaks perfect Mandarin, by the way. They lived a godd life there with three maids and four-story house. Three maids and four-story house..... Oh yeah, they're the one who told me that backpacking around Europe could cost me five grands if I know how to work it.

8) I knew it! I told my cousin and she was like, "no, it's not true. If your accent sounds like an American or English, they would hire you." Now who's laughing? I know I am.

You've got a degree in teaching? I've heard they're more likely to accept you if you've got a MA in teaching.
