It depends on the context.

How about this context:
some website wrote:SVDH-US là diễn đàn cởi mở của sinh viên du học Việt nam tại Hoa kỳ/. Chúng tôi
chia sẻ những suy tư về cuộc sống, tình yêu, sự nghiệp và những vấn đề chung.

Its a summary of a yahoo group called SVDH-US.

It looked small and easy to translate, but the dictionary I am using, http://www.informatik.uni-leipzig.de/~duc/Dict/, doesnt seem to have all the words I need in it.

Plus I still suck at Vietnamese :cry

For this case, the only word I think will fit is life.

Thank you Lennye :)

There are lots of words that arent in the online dictionary, like lì xì (which means new years lucky money I think) so I really appreciate the help!

Li xi in English are called red envelopes. About translating a paragraph/line, it's better to understand the meaning of that paragraph/line and then translate the concept, not word by word. It's because I believe every single language has more meanings for certain words than one single original meaning. Thus, it's best to understand all the meanings and choose whether to use which meaning to which context.
I'm glad I can help. Ask me any question if you feel like next time. I'll try my best to answer whatever I know. ;)

Wow, I really appreciate it.
If there is anything I can help you with please ask me :)

Anyway, I finished my little translation experiment. Vietnamese grammar seems suprisingly simple compared to English so far.

"SVDH-US là diễn đàn cởi mở của sinh viên du học Việt nam tại Hoa kỳ."

SVDH-US
là is
diễn đàn forum
cởi mở open-hearted
của belong to
sinh viên student
du học study abroad
tại in
Hoa kỳ america

I think:
"SVDH-US is an open-hearted forum for students from Vietnam studying in America."

"Chúng tôi chia sẻ những suy tư về cuộc sống, tình yêu, sự nghiệp và những vấn đề chung."

Chúng tôi We(not you)
chia sẻ share
những some
suy tư meditate
về about
cuộc sống life
tình yêu passion
sự nghiệp career
và and
những some
vấn đề problem
chung common

I think:
"We share thoughts about life, love, work, and common problems."

Well, I guess thats a pretty simple blurb. If you see any major mistakes please let me know. I'm going to try to add these words to my vocabulary list.

chào bạn !
