Looking for info on Handan in China

Hi there,

I begin teaching at Handan Foreign Language School on 1st September this year. I am looking for some information on the city of Handan but that appears hard to find beyond where tourist sites are, temperature and weather info etc. Although I love suprise I would find any "real" information about Handan very useful.
Has anyone been to Handan? or know about it? If so can you tell me what you know?

Handan has a long history for at least 2000 years.
It is the ancient capital of Zhao ( a Kingdom in Zhanguo age of China).
