I've been told that if you speak fluent English and look like someone who speaks fluent English, you are capable of finding jobs in Vietnam, Thailand, and most Southeast Asian countries. Of course, your pay won't be near someone who has a master in comparison but it will still be a considerable amount in these countries.

Again, I don't have any first-hand experience as I only hear from people who has experience with working abroad. Contacting agencies while in Canada would do you no good unless you do have the credentials to back yourself up or if you are hired from a large recruiting company.

Your best bet is to be in the country of your choice and apply like mad. Go in person, let the employer see and hear for themselves.

When I was in Vietnam, I could've landed an English teaching job but decided against it since I was on vacation.

I am but not to a point of giving up everything. I decided to skip out on my Europe trip and head back to Vietnam. I miss it too much. But this time, I plan on leaving my safety blanket of Saigon. If I were to go for 3 months like the last time, it wouldn't be so bad to pick up a tutoring job and making some of the travel expenses back, eh?

Man, EC is getting weird. I wonder why I didnt' see this reply until now :? :? :? . Anyhoo, so according to what you're saying and if I understand it correctly, you'll be heading back to Vietnam again but this time you won't stay in Saigon, right? And do you think you could find a temporary job in those months? I mean, I thought you had to make a one-year contract for a job like this.

To me, the teachers need to have teaching skill. It's the most important thing. You could speak English well. That's ok.But how to make your student better at English? That's your required.4 years for university to get the neccessary things, 1 of them is skill.

Yes, you got that right. I'll be heading there next year and I am going to venture out of Saigon. I'll be considering it a road trip. I doubt I will make it to Hanoi. I'll probably set my limit to Hai Phong or Nha Trang. Wanna join me?

I don't think I'll be looking for work in Vietnam. After all, it is supposed to be a vacation, right?

Very understandable but regardless of what a student thinks, the schools in Vietnam will hire inexperienced individuals to teach English. And this does not apply to only Vietnam.
