Overly Patriotic

Postby Unknownsu » Sat Dec 17, 2005 9:07 pm

Where you were born is coincidence. I see people whining about how great their country is, piggybacking on achievements of people who are from a similar geography. Most evident in this forum are the Chinese and more so, the Vietnamese. Patriotism is good, but patriotism to a point where you make others feel inferior borders fanaticism.

How can you be proud of chance?

Oh my lord, is there something wrong in this forum? I openly criticized the Vietnamese and Chinese and no one comes and challenges me aside from the one who is swimming nicely in the capitalist sea?

What are you talking about? I've been in the water longer than you! I think it's time for me to get out. I'm turning into a prune.

Hey man, I think we shouldn't talk must about communist party in VietNam or China. In the past, we have some mistake such as " Cải cách ruộng đất- land reform" or " Phát huy nội lực- to uphold internal force" , but I still strongly belive that our countries now going on the right track to developping. About 10 to 15 years ago, I always wonder about Vietnam' future under dictator communist party rule, but now as everyone witness, we really not be lag behind US or Europe so far and the distant have been shorting. I amn't dare to say we can overcome US in short future but we are potential for that.
anyway, I think strive for future always better than criticize the past.
Here is my humble idea (ngu ý của đệ), please don't say I am so sophisticated ( đừng nói em quá tinh vi)

 It's still early to dream, my friend. Or how should I say it in Vietnamese.... dung nam mo giua ban ngay! We're 20-30 years or more behind Japanese and still haven't beaten them yet, but here you are thinking we have the potential to be in the same clan with the U.S.??? Don't dream too big, man...
