Well, it's because this site is authorized in China. You are not allowed to access it there. You can go to this site to check it out, though. This is where the picture is originally from.

Look at Sissi for instance  She married her cousin Franz, who was the son of her mother's sister  I mean it was so normal just a few centuries ago. I think it's also normal nowadays in gipsy cultures.

 But... but... but... they're your cousins... Isn't it like incest?

It was a non-compulsory subject. You could choose between Psychology and Greek. Since I had already studied Greek in the previous course, I thought Psychology would be interesting, so I took it.

I don't remember what the book said about that picture, only that it appeared on it, along with some similar ones

I have cousins in France, and I used to like one of them. Don't get all grossed out yet and let me explain my reason. His father, or as I called him my uncle, married to some French woman, and then their relationship didn't work out well; therefore, she got custody of the children and moved somewhere far. My cousin didn't get in touch with his dad until he was 30ish-- twenty years later after his parents's divorce. He actually had been trying to find my uncle and my great-aunt on his own. When they finally met, they decided to take him back to Vietnam without telling anyone there that they'd gotten in touch with him. This was why when I first saw him, I thought he was so cute and kinda liked him. However, when I found out he was my cousin, I got grossed out, or as you put it, the feelings were gone. We just hung out as like buddies or siblings. It was the first and last time that I actually had a feeling with one of my cousins. Normally, I just love them as my siblings. I can stay mad at someone for years if I wanted to, but I can't do that with them. I just can't stay mad at them for more than a day.

Still less than my coworkers though. One of them has twenty-seven cousins, and the other one has fourteen cousins. They told me they only send greetings cards to their cousins, not giving them a present like me.

We did . In the past, exactly in the Trần dynasty it happened :?
You know in the Lý dynasty , Lý Chiêu Hoàng married Trần Cảnh.Cos of his uncle _Trần Thủ Độ, Trần Cảnh overthrew Lý dynasty .The Lý dynasty was collapsed. This was a big historical lesson .Then Trần had a rule : Cousins married each other to avoid being overthrown by other noble strains.
