Well, in our culture the expectation of girls have to be this way and that way in front of guys has embedded in the behaviors for generations. Although the new generation is more open when it comes to dating than the old one, the mentality hasn't changed much, to me. Don't they still think girls who are talkative in front of guys sluts? Or don't they still think women who are obsessed with sexual intercourse prostitute-like? Or don't guys still want their wives to be virgins when they're first married? Or am I the one who is out of time here?

Oh, it's easy to tell if a girl is obsessed with sexual intercours. And guys might think she's prositute-like. The matter is how could the girl let the guy have that thought? If he gets her wrong, then it's not her fault and he is stupid.

I dont know why you have the idea that girls in our culture are expected to be shy in front of guys. They are just expected to be girls - girls must be girls. And when they stand in front of any guy, they could be shy or not, that much depends on their feelings. Nowadays, girls become very confident and they're the persons who decide their lives. Dont get me wrong. We dont have to act like men if we want to decide our lives, huh? Besides, those girls who pretend to be shy look dumb and only dumb guys are attracted to them.

Being vergin until first marriage is a issue that has been argueing in our culture. I have to admid that many peope still keep this old thought but not all of them are so conservative any more. Some're really open to it. I dont say it's good or bad. It has both good sides and bad sides.

BTW, I dont think you are out of time. You are smart and dont just do what you are expected to.

Oh no, when I was talking about this, I meant girls to girls. I remember when I was in high school, one of my girl friends kept saying which girl was a slut or dressed like prostitute to her. However, I didn't see nothing wrong with those girls she judged except that they weren't shy in front of guys. And they talked to those guys without having their girl friends with them. I thought she was the only judgmental one with her rules of how girls should be in front guys, but surprisingly most of them thought the same. Girls couldn't befriend with guys without their girl friends around with them or they'd be called as sluts. And wearing a top without a bra is prostitute-like to them, for example(what the heck!). I mean, I was wondering if it's still the same thing or it's changed.

I was hanging with guys all the time when I was in high school. You know there were mostly guys in my class, so it was not very surpirsed. About wearing a top without bra, it's a bit surprised to me as no girls in my school was without bra when they went to school ...We had to wear uniform which was white shirt and dark pants. Imagine if you didnt wear a bra, everyone could see through hehe.

You silly goose, I'm not talking about ao dai without bra. It's gross. I'm talking about when you're wearing a T-shirt, would they judge you if you're not wearing a bra? Last time I was in Vietnam, I could not leave the house without bra. My mom doesn't care how or what I dress in the States, but when we were there she was on my every case. You can't wear this; you can't wear that; you're not leaving the house looking like this or that. Gosh, it was 30 degrees in Celsius outside, and I was not allowed to wear some stuff.
