The year of the Dog is coming up once again, after a cycle of 12 years. At this season, there are many traditional festivals are being held in Asian countries. In Vietnam, the Lunar New Year, called "TET holiday", usually lasts from 5 to 7 days. These special days are also good time for annual family meetings. However, many people enjoy their Tet holidays in very expensive ways. Stores are full of shoppers. They buy so many foods and drinks that they even know these foods are unnecessary and expensive, too. Meanwhile, poor children and homeless people are still miserable and living in poverty. Saving money is a useful and meaningful way to show (or share) our sympathies with disadvantaged people...

I don't know about other people, but people I know don't waste their food during Tet. My aunt's family cooks food and then give it to homeless at the Church. My grandma in Vietnam for a vacation went to temples to give money to the homeless. Anyway, I don't think we should consider this issue on holidays only. We have to think about it every day.
