Indonesia

Postby LEATRICE » Sun Aug 30, 2009 9:01 am

Hi all, I'm studying a book (a bit like a travelogue indeed) about Indonesia in my last high-school year..
Indeed I don't really know much about this place..
Can any of you tell me more about this place? Politically.. Economically.. Culturally.. etc.
And... I'm told that Chinese in Indonesia are not quite popular.. locals seem to hate Chinese so much.. Is that really so :-( ?
Thanks:)

I always thought Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore were full of Chinese. I guess there's always new things to learn every day. Also, I didn't know the natives hate Chinese there. Perhaps, Chinese in Indonesia are like White people in South Africa, as in they are the ones who hold the power??????? That's why the natives hate them?

indonesia is a beautifull country..the most popular in the world is Bali, the people said that Bali is a "pulau dewata" or a "gods island".

like the other developing country indonesia have much problem, its like a poverty, diferrences class economy and educated people and so on. and i think the goverment and the indonesian who have dreaming a better life, always trying to develop and solve the problems.

the other side Indonesia have a rich place, its has green island, beautifully sea, rich of cultures (many of art, song, dance, architecture, something unique in indonesia) , many kind of plant and animal.

and...exactly the heart of indonesian is very calm and kindfull, and they love to help a new comer, they still have a great spirit of friendship,
you dont to be sad about that rumours, becouse they will be angry and hate the other if people hurt them ... {-:

Hi,

Though the Indonesians have been influenced by many foreign lands, the many remote places of the country still possess and reserve the country's unique culture, rituals, customs and old traditions. There are lots of traditional dances that are being played and performed during special occasions in some public places.
