Easter in your country

Postby Podziomka » Thu Apr 13, 2006 9:07 pm

How do you celebrate Easter? Each country in Europe has for sure some different traditions connected with it.
Let's get to know them :)

In my country, people spend the week out with their friends, family or partners. We take a short holiday.

I'm at my boyfriend's now 8) hehe

well, fist of all , we don't have classes and work during the whole East Term, all the people who don't live in their hometown return ( as i am) and we spend the time in the beach, rivers, with family , friends, visiting differents places etc, BUT the most important to us is that we rememer the Jesus Christ death and resurrection ( sorry i forgot how to spell it) and we go to Mass, Church, pray, etc... !!! It depends on the religion also!

In Poland students have also a free week, but people who work have shorter break. We take part in special masses, visit different churches to see Jesus's graves and of course meet with family for a traditional Easter's breakfast on Sunday morning.

Here at México all the people go the beach for three days, but students are on vacation untill april 23.
The people who want to work -hospitals, mass media, police, and the comercial activity- only get a day free in order to give service.
I must to work all the week and only get a free day next thrusday.
But there is a good point, the city is alone and we can walk arround with out any problem.
