Sorry but he was Catalan. And he didn't like to be called Spanish. Sometimes the Wiki should be updated or corrected.

Here is another interesting website.

Dalí...Oh Dalí...!!!

Another very good example of excellent painter.
If God Exist, SHE/HE must to give a kiss on the hands of the great Dalí.
He was a real genious, and I don´t want to make any comment to this men, to this GOD because it would be not to feel respect for his person.
Excellent and SALUTE!!!!

I've read a book after him - Diary of a Genius entitled The Art of Farting, frankly speaking I couldn't read it up til the end, but sometimes I liked it a lot... actually I don't like speaking out loud about several specific things he wrote... but paintings are nice, though I have never seen them in reality, just in books and on the Internet

Dixie, you already know what I'm going to say. But I must correct you. Ethnically, if you wish, he was Catalan. But politically speaking he was Spanish. He had a Spanish passport and he never renounced it. I don't want to start the whole argument over again (plus, it's against the rules). I don't see a contradiction between being Catalan and being Spanish. Sean Connery is Scottish, but he is British too.

It's funny how you only show up when the very same topics are mentioned.

Is it true that he had married his wife Gala (who was Russian) about fifty times?
Somebody told me that as they traveled around the world, they would get married in each new country and the wedding would be according to the traditions of that country. I searched the internet but couldn’t find anything mentioning it.
