Pumpkin pie... Yummy!

Postby Lalee » Fri Nov 25, 2005 1:04 am

Today I attended a conference about Thanksgiving day.
I learned new things about this celebration and I tasted some pumpkin pie for the first time.
I got surprised, really. I never thought that it was going to taste so good. It was yummy!!
Now I'm craving for more. Too bad we have no pumpkin here.
We just have apple pie.

Oh and the speaker was so WOW! I wonder if the girls who attended were interested in the information provided or in him.

Did you know that the American flag have 50 stars? Once I recall I wondered myself about it. Well, the 50 stars represent each state existing there. Also the 13 stripes mean 13 initial states.
At the beginning there were only 13 stars as well as 13 stripes. Then they added a star and a stripe for each new state, until they got up to like 17 or whatever, then there were too many stripes so they went back to 13 stripes again, but kept adding stars.
While I was listening to this I was wondering again...what if they keep adding stars and get up until, let's say, 70 or more? what are they going to do then?

Oh well, it was a nice lecture. Ohhh and the pumpkin pie...sigh...
Now I think I love thanksgiving just for that.

I love pumpkin pie too  I haven't had any for years but it is so nice. People always think it will be like a vegetable pie but it has heaps of sugar in it to make it sweet. One day I will make one, I have only ever had them made for me. I have heard that the same sort of thing can be done with sweet potato and pecan nuts....yummmmmmmmmmm

Well, this conference was only for students from my school. Not for public in general.
My school usually celebrates American's holidays and teaches students about those special dates, and their culture.

Hey friends,

I have a recipie, is more or less the same. I´m going to compare both and post my recipie if it is different.
At halloween my family eat pumpkin pie, unfurtunally I couldn´t prepared it because my oven doesn´t function. but I bought a deliciious pumpkin pie.
