Earthquake in Silicon Valley

Just several days ago, hearing the news about those tragic fires in the Southern California, I was thinking that the Northern part of this state is much better. I completely forgot that it is actually a seismic zone. And here we go, just a few hours ago there was a remainder.

A moderate (magnitude of 5.6) earthquake stroke Silicon Valley; thank God the earthquake caused only minor damages.

A few little flower pots on my balcony fell down. Oh, my poor plants, after falling down from the third floor, they won’t be able to recover . Luckily, the flower pots were the major damages in my home

The whole SF Bay Area was shaking, Cypress. I was watching TV when I felt the first quake. It was pretty quick although it was quite loud. I thought it was an earthquake the moment I heard it. However, I live near the freeway and BART station, so I was kinda thinking it might have been some truck breaking fast on the freeway or the train on its track. Then I felt the second quake several seconds later. This one was big. My TV was shaking and so were my couch and pretty much everything else in the house. I ran to the TV to hold it while screaming to my Mom the quake was coming. Fortunately, nothing was broken.

Oh no, we have earthquake and our environment is similar to that of San Diego. I heard it on TV several days ago that we have to be careful or we might get a big fire like SD did.
