It has been Putin's last day in office today, so farewell, mister president, or good bye, who knows.

Let me be naughty and quite captious to your words, Danyet: you say "after seeing what he has done" - what ground do you have to compare with? You see, I'm not trying to be his strong defender I'm just curious. And also I'm appealing to you as a person sharing the current residence with me. I believe in order to maintain your Russian you listen to some radio stations, TV channels, read local papers. I'm asking what exact resourses do you consider as trustworthy? too curious twice a day this time

First of all, gentlemen, Russia is not America. All what America has achieved during ages whether in politics or spiritually is just can't be done in Russia in this relatively small period of time, since the collapse of Communism. They need a time...As to Mr. Putin, the majority of Russians like him, youth pin their hopes on the political and economical trend he's established during his 8th year ruling of the country. Apart from that, he has killed most of the terrorist in Russia...Nowadays, you can hardly find any terrorist in Russia. So, summing up things going on in Russia today, I think Putin really worked like a horse... :)

I don't know which newspapers or TV stations to trust for sure. Putin has control now of most of them. If you want to read an alternative source of news, read the St Petersburg Times. I know what what happened to the protesters against Putin in St Petersburg because my friend was there on Nevsky Ulitsa and wrote about it when 300 people were beaten and arrested. I also listen to some of my Russian friends who disagree with Putin's methods.

I believe the question was, "who was the greatest president of the USA?"

That means, who, in the past, should be accorded this great honor?

There are over 35 choices from the past. Why don't we choose from them, or start another thread about who is going to be the future President?

Thank you.

Allow me to make a small correction to your last post, Bambag:

I'm sure that you did not deliberately quote me out of context, but I thought I should bring it to your attention to avoid any further confusion.

Thank you again.

Americans have a habit to kill their presidents sometimes. Maybe the presidents who were killed were the greatest presidents for USA and for other world.
