Why would someone bother to change or update them? Most people here don’t even know these laws exist. And even if they exist, it doesn’t really mean they are enforced. For instance, if the one about ugly people on the streets of SF was enforced, the city streets would be almost empty
Where did you find these laws anyway?

Very well said, Cypress. Time changes, cultural traditions change, people change, belief changes, everything changes. Nothing stays permanent, and it's a beauty of life because things around us are impermanent. Thus, it's always a waste of time to attach ourselves to something. Most born here people I know don't even know the Californian laws well or how much protection we have from the Constitution. For example, some moons ago my uncle fixed my aunt's garage door when she first moved in her house, for she didn't like the way the door operated. My uncle was an engineers, so fixing a door was a piece of cake to him. During the week he was putting the old door down and getting a new one up, my neighbor called the police. They came to the house and asked my uncle if he knew he needed the permission to build a new garage door. And then they sent some people down to check his work. They only let him loose when they saw the door was perfectly fine and within legal requirements. It's our house and our frigging garage door, but we needed some permission to build one or a new one!?!??!!? I'm utterly out of words.
