English/Spanish Conversation Clubs

Postby James33 » Tue Sep 20, 2005 8:28 pm

Hello

My name is James. I will be visiting Buenos Aires in November/December of this year. I hope to stay for a while in order to improve my knowledge of spoken Spanish (which is quite good). I'm a native English speaker (from Ireland) and I'm also a qualified TEFL teacher.

I would like to know if there are any regular English/Spanish speaker clubs in Buenos Aires where people can come and meet in order improve both their English/Spanish speaking skills.

Also I would be interested in meeting any Spanish speakers from Buenos Aires who have some spare time during the day, which they may wish to use in order to improve their English skills while also helping me improve my Spanish.

Best regards
Jim

Hey Jim, I'm not sure you will find what you're looking for, there are not many members from South America here... Anyway good luck...

Spanish/English speaking club

Postby James33 » Sat Sep 24, 2005 12:12 pm

Thanks for your reply. I'm a little disappointed though!, I thought this board was for people who had an interest in "Argentina".

Anyway...there must be some type of informal English/Spanish talking groups in B.A...any further suggestions would be helpful.

Many thanks

Another Latina here!

Too bad that James decided to visit Argentina.
Had I seen this post earlier, I would've made him change his mind and advised him to come here instead of going to Buenos Aires.
If he had agreed, I would have spent all my free time with him, talking and talking.

What's wrong with my country? No one wants to come here. So sad....

Specially the ruin (Maia, Asteca and Inca) and the knowledge involved in these culture, I consider fantastic. I cry  when I remember that the spanish people destroy the Maia's libraries.
Maybe the World could be a better place. I believe that if everything cultures have been value many problems could be solved.
