that course it worked out and practised in US and by US

I find it a bit rude and impolite (the dialog supposed to happen in US if I'm not mistaken)

LOL!!!!! :lol: :lol: I don't know about English speakers, but Spaniards in general are really bad at speaking English...

Well yes of course there are exceptions, I was talking in general... :lol: :lol: I had a professor in college whom I mistook for a native at first. On the first day, he entered the room with his baggy trousers, a can of coke, and a pencil on his ear. He spoke really good American English and I was so sure he was from the States... It was a shock when I discovered he was in fact from Andalucia, Southern Spain!

Tooooraaaaaaa! nice to hear about you again, and about your interest in learning spanish.
I´m not as well as another ec members think in english language. I do, every day, a big effort, but I like English, I love English, I dream in English.
And I like to study too my mother tongue, Spanish.
I like to study grammar.

In California, there are lots of Spanish names for cities, streets, places, etc. I often wonder what they mean. I tried to translate some of them but not very successfully. Please anyone correct my translations and translate the ones that I couldn’t. Thank you

Yerba buena – good grass, good herb???

Salinas - something related to salt???

Monterey – mountain king???

El Camino – the road

Del Paso – something belonging to a route (way)???

Novato – newcomer

Vacaville – something related to a cow???

Manteca - ???

Modesto – modest

Sonora – rich???

Tres Pinos – three pines

Palo Alto – tall wood???

Milpitas – thousand cactuses???

Fresno - ???

Dos Palos – two …???
