Dear Nosferatu,

I traveled to Havanna in 1994. I think things have not changed to much in 10 years. I could give you my experience, but take care because of the distance.

Sightsing: Well you could talk about national teather, the university, and Capitolio, Yeah the Capitolio, there is one in Havanna. You could visit yahoo images. I think it was built before Castro arrived to the power. Before that Cuba´s president want to be like USA governements and did al whatever were on their hands in order to got it.
You could looke to for a special restaurant called "la Bodeguita del Medio" (the little warehouse on the half way)where there are traditional dishes of Cuba. and the characteristic of that place is that all the walls are painted with signatures ot words that visitord put. as in a jail where prisioners write whatever they feel.
It is call "bodeguita del medio" because it is exactly on the half way of a street.
You could visit too a famous cabaret called Tropicana where there are beautifull performance like in Las Vegas USA.
In some streets of Havanna people instal little shops to sell souvenirs. You could visit the place where the governemt put the ship in wich Fidel Castro arrive to Cuba in order to do the revolution, and visit the editorial house: "casa de las americas" (America´s house) where you could buy books of the most famous cuban writters like José Martí. Salvador Gillén and Alejo Carpentier (mu favorit).
Cubans are so friendly, the lovies of the hotels are plenty of young men and woman looking for a foreing friend. The problem is that there is too lots of prostitutes (both sex) because there are a few job oportunities.
You could visit too the Morro Castle where every night people wearing clothes of the 1800 years and represent how the army shot big canons in order to show their power.
What else, what else... well you could visit the square where there are government buildings, one of them has a big face of Che Guevara revolutionary leader. And if you have time you could get a suban bill with the face of Che Guevara.
That´s why I can to say. Any question friend???
