Cricketer - Shane Warne is a disgrace!

Recently the coverage on Shane Warne (famous Australian Cricketer) has been more about his conquests off the field and not on.

I think it is disgusting the way he has behaved and I feel terribly sorry for his family.

The legacy that he leaves his children is not one of a great sporting legend ; but more a womaniser that broke his family up.

I have always had apathy towards sporting heros as I have felt that they didn't get much privacy (much like Hollywood actors). However, if they want to take the pay checks and the accolades from fans then they have to live up certain expectations. Why get married in the first place if you are going to behave in this manner.

His personal life is a mess; and his public persona is in trouble, but what an effort by an individual in the Australian cricket side; for the ashes series.

On a personal level I find this arrogant, sex maniac a disgrace, but as an athlete you have to look at him in a different light.

With the assistance of Glen McGrath, Shane Warne was the stand out Australian cricketer during the series.

He will be definately missed by the Australian Cricket side for his talents (I don't think they will miss the publicity surrounding his off field antics).

This is just a follow-up in this thread for anyone that is interested .

Shane Warne has returned to Australia today with a view to trying to reconcile his marriage with Simone Warne. GOOD LUCK!

He claims that the Australian press has been more damaging to him than the British media. Statements made by him at a press conference at Sydney Airport were that he can't take his children out and that the Australian press camp outside his house etc. Poor bloke! I mean the guy makes most of his money from advertising etc; what does he expect. If he kept his pants up the media probably wouldn't have anything to write about him on a personal level.

I hope his wife kicks him and his cricket bat (and mobile phone) to the kerb!
