Crown PRINCESS MARY of DENMARK has a baby BOY!

Postby Shazzam » Sat Oct 15, 2005 1:58 am

Crown Princess Mary of Denmark has had a baby boy! :)

The Tasmanian-born princess delivered her first child at 1.57am (0957 AEST) today at Copenhagen University Hospital.

The Danish palace said in a statement that mother and baby are doing fine.

Crown Prince Frederick was present at the birth. Good for him I say!

The baby weighed in at 3,500 grams and was 51cm long.

8) :D

In America the news system is very self centered. If it did not involve an American, the news goes unreported here. WE hear nothing of Aussie troops in Iraq. As a matter of fact, didn't USA win the entire WWII single handed and on their own? :(

Mary and Frederich haven't named the baby yet!

Apparently the policy is that they rotate between Christian and Frederich. So it is pretty obvious that the baby will be called 'Christian'. That is so strange isn't it that there are only two possible names for a male heir?

Mary and Frederich left the hospital last night surrounded by the World media (with of course, their little boy). He looks so cute.

What I found amazing compared with other royal families is that they put their baby into the car seat and Frederich drove their 4wd away from the hospital (with Mary in the backseat with the baby). I remember watching the coverage when Princess Diana took her babies home; Charles would pick her up in his chaffeur driven Rolls Royce and she would just hop in the back seat with the baby (no car seat).

Mary and Frederich just seemed really normal; no airs and graces. 8)

They were like any young couple trying to put their baby into the car seat for the first time (it was a struggle).

I hope they tell the world soon what they are going to call the baby. Mary has broken away from so many traditions, I wonder if she will break away from the name Christian?

News today in Australia is that Princes Mary and Prince Frederich have returned to hospital today with their new little son; it appears that he has joundice. We can't believe that he was released from hospital with this condition. Generally it is picked up as soon as they are born. It isn't dangerous when picked up on quickly; but still you wouldn't expect a future King to not have all the best of treatment.
