KYLIE MINOGUE ~ Breast cancer battle.

Postby Shazzam » Thu Oct 27, 2005 6:03 am

Sorry everyone! I tried to post this thread this morning; and my pc went mad!! I had to delete the post and start again. Please be patient with me

Kylie Minogue is a very well known pop-artist and actress; she is also an AUSSIE! I'm sure most of you have heard of her.

Earlier this year Kylie was diagnosed with breast cancer; she had a lumpectomy in Sydney and returned to Europe for chemotherapy. The news that has come through today is that more drastic surgery might be required. I feel so sorry for her she is such a beautiful young woman. Other famous stars have experienced this as well including: Olivia Newtown-John and more recently Anastasia (both of whom are currently enjoying a clean bill of health).

I think what is important is that these well known celebrities are letting the world know about this disease to try and educate people about the need to have yourself checked by a doctor. It is funny how people will take notice of a celebrity.

It must be a very difficult time for them; especially having to discuss their condition and treatment with the general public; but I think it is a great thing that they are doing.

I pray everything goes well for Kylie; she has so much to look forward to. :(

It is such a shame. I always liked that little girl. I am so saddened by all the stories of drastic surgery and dangerous drugs that are prescribed. I keep hearing of remarkable recoveries from people who have beaten cancer with diet and simple herbs. I hope that she looked into these first.

I have heard good and bad about alternative medicine. I know in some cases it can be very useful; but I have heard of children that have died because their parents have snubbed doctors and used herbal/alternative medicines. I think you have to find a balance. I think (from what I have read) she has been trying alternatives for a few months. So obviously things haven't improved. I suppose it depends on the agressiveness of the cancer.

It would not surprize me one little bit if it turnred out that most of the negative reports have originated with the drug and insurance industry!

Well I can't answer that one on a global basis, but I can certainly say it wasn't true in a local instance.

A natural healer (i'm not exactly sure what he was now) was treating a small infant (that consequently died). The parents (stupid idiots) took their young child to this man for treatment (apparently the child could have been treated by conventional means) but they took him to this person. To cut a long story short (and because time has washed away my memory) the baby died and the gentleman was charged with manslaughter. The charges were brought about because he basically knew that this little baby wasn't getting any better and was becoming terminal and didn't act.

The gentleman in question was tried and found guilty. Whilst awaiting his sentence he died from cancer! So there you go.

I don't have a one sided view on natural therapies I think they are great, but I think when you are ill you have to look at all alternatives; it is not healthy to close your mind.

Here is the web link for the story on this guy:
