AUSTRALIAN IDOL~~!

Postby Shazzam » Mon Oct 31, 2005 8:29 am

I am a massive fan of this program. I know that there is American Idol/UK Idol. I'm not sure about other countries, but I'm pretty sure that there is because they did a World Idol.

I watched the first one here when Guy Sebastian won; we are now into our third Australia Idol.

Do you watch IDOL programs in your country?

I would love some information about winners and what they have done since they won? 8) :)

I think so, although it's under another title. I hated that program since the first time it was broadcasted. It's been a few years since then. Those kids are not idols, they are just ordinary people who want an opportunity, and the TV channel gives it to them, but at what price?

When you think about it Dixie most famous musicians had to be discovered somehow! It gives us a chance to see some talented people (and so not so talented people) get a chance at stardom. In the case of Kelly Clarkson; she has done so well since winning the first American Idol and I personally think she is a great singer. If it hadn't been for the program she probably would have remained undiscovered.

The Grand Final of Australian Idol took place last night. Another disappointment. Australian's voted Kate as their 'Idol' instead of Emily Williams (who was brilliant). Don't get me wrong Kate can sing but Emily is amazing!!! I was so  and :? .

After the show was over I thought typical that this contest should become a sport. Emily is originally from New Zealand. Aussies and Kiwis!!! It turned into and "All Blacks v Wallabies" competition I think (Australia versus New Zealand). Emily lives in Queensland and considers herself an Australian; she should have won on her talent.

After all some of our biggest stars (that we have adopted as our own) are kiwis. Sam Neil and Russell Crowe for example.

Funny how Australians only take ownership of them once they have made it!
