MELBOURNE CUP RUNS TODAY !

It is a huge day in Australia with the running of the Melbourne Cup taking place. This is an annual horse racing event. Horses come from pretty much all over the world to run in this race.

In recent times they have changed the time of the race it runs (i think) at approximately 3.00pm.

There are luncheons held all over the place; and people get dressed up in all their finery and hats etc. Its a lot of fun.

MAKYBE DIVA WINS THE MELBOURNE CUP 2005 - 3rd time!!

Just announced! MAKYBE DIVA has officially retired after taking a "hat trick". Three Melbourne Cup wins in a row. What a race!

This six year old mare is a legend now. There are only a few other horses in history that have won this event three times. I have never seen it in my life time. I have heard alot about Pharlap growing up another three time winner that is stuffed somewhere in a museum!

What an amazing horse. I totally enjoyed watching the race. She looked like she could have run it again after it finished! It is no easy race to win the race is 3200 metres!

For the record the horse I backed is still running!
