Aussie Slang is the best in the World!

Postby Shazzam » Wed Nov 09, 2005 7:58 am

There is no other slang in the world like Aussie slang.

Here are a couple of examples:

slab (a box of beer)

A Barry Crocker (a shocker) he is also a famous Australian entertainer.

Spunk (a handsome person)

A few kangaroos loose in the top paddock (acting crazy)

A sandwich short of a picnic (similar meaning as above).

~ over tit or A over T (fell over)

Any tick of the clock (anytime soon)

She'll be apples (everything will be alright)

Here is a really great web-link with heaps of Aussie slang:

I will keep posting them as I think of them.

Does anyone else have some Aussie slang to post

Ah! I just thought of another slang word. SNAG it means in slang a sausage.

Put together like this:

I will have a 'snag sanga'.

translation:

I will have a sausage sandwich.

They got into a blue. (Means that they had a fight).

That's is probably because you are a lady and stay away from company who talk like this!

One is an "aeroplane blonde" when one, like an aeroplane, has a black box. ......You gotta love that Aussie slang!

OMG I haven't heard that one before but I do get the drift.

For example: what up top is blonde etc. but maybe not the real thing.. I can't believe I haven't heard that one before.
