Today is January 26th ~ Australia Day!

Australians celebrate today by doing the traditional, beach bbq's usually. It is a public holiday in Australia today.

I couldn't find the picture you were talking about. Also what wife are you referring to Hazel? or his current wife?

No it isn't about independence. You should read the site there is heaps of information. It is basically a day to celebrate being Australian and everything about Australian culture. Officially it was when Governor Phillip colonised NSW, have a read. :idea: :lol:

Thats what we did. We stayed in our area as the local council had many activities planned. Fireworks went off at 9pm, which was great for the kids. We decided to stick with 'Aussie Tradition' and have a bbq on the Bay. It was a great day.

It was so refreshing to see so many Australians really getting into the spirit of the day. I didn't think it would go this well this year, as people are still a little christmased out! But hey everyone was into it! 8) 8) :lol:
