Christmas 2008 - Australia

Postby Shazzam » Fri Dec 19, 2008 11:08 pm

Hi everyone. I haven't been around too much lately to post as life is very busy these days.

The one thing I have noticed this festive season is the shortage of shoppers!! I can't believe how easy it is to get a parking space. Obviously the world economic downturn has affected Australians. In some ways I'm thinking that maybe this isn't a bad thing. Perhaps Australians will now focus on the meaning of Christmas (for this year at least) instead of how much a present costs.

To everyone on EC Merry Christmas hope you enjoy it with family and friends.

Hi Dixie {-:

My family are of European decent so we still have the traditional turkey, roast vegetables for lunch (I do so to please my mother). Most Australian families have BBQ's outside with prawns, salads, cold meat etc, very relaxed. Most families spend Boxing Day at the beach, so the beaches here get pretty packed (if the weather is nice).

How do you spend Christmas?

Christmas at the beach, must be really interesting to see :D

My Christmas day is usually the same: my mother's family come over for lunch and we spend the afternoon together at home. Not a big deal, at least to me. Christmas is just like the other days... This year however it will be funnier I think since my mom had this idea of getting a tió and we went to a sex shop (well, it's more like a gift shop but it's got some kinky stuff too) and got presents for everyone
