Stimulus packages

Postby Shazzam » Sun Apr 05, 2009 11:29 pm

Well times are tough. The Australian Government has delivered two stimulus packages since the decline of the markets. I'm not sure if it will help but I know that I used my first one to pay bills and the second I actually did put back into the economy (retail). I figured it was best to spend it where jobs could be saved and created.

I know that the USA has delivered similar packages. I was wondering if you think stimulus packages will help the current economic crisis.

Depends on what the money is spent on. If your PM is like the clown Obama it will not be spent on anything resembling stimulus. But at least Australia was smart enough to reject a "Cap n Trade" bill.

Well two stimulus packages later and things aren't looking too bad in Australia. We have been very lucky to escape major financial downturn. There have been some job losses but industry here has changed alot over the past few years anyone. Older (less green) industries are making way for more environmentally friendly alternatives, in the short term it has created many new job opportunities. Fingers crossed that this trend holds for a long time.
