who or whom

Please tell me which word is correct in the following sentence,who or whom :
Last night,I saw a familiar man WHO OR WHOM I thought was my old friend since at high school.

Use who as a subject and whom as an obejct.

Can you figure it out for yourself?

In the new English, you can use "who" for both object and subject. You can also use "whom" in this one.

Actually, only 'who' is correct here.
