Sir,


I have some doubt.


Some girl or the other has eaten the eggs.

Please correct it and explain the use of " other".

"Other " is a pronoun or adjective.

Correct is 'some girl or other...'

'Other' belongs to a group of words (including 'some, many, much') that have functional affinities with both adjectives and pronouns, and are therefore often termed 'pronominal adjectives'.
